What is the BBAC?
The Blind Bowls Association of Canada is a non-profit organization run by blind and visually impaired bowlers for blind and visually impaired bowlers.
What is the purpose of the BBAC?
The purpose of the BBAC is to foster and promote the game of Bowls for the blind and visually impaired in Canada, and to be available to all in accordance with the Canadian Human Rights Code. To follow World Bowls Ltd Constitution and By-laws adopted by Bowls Canada Boulingrin and to interpret any such rule when called upon to do so, and such exceptions as adapted byInternational Blind Bowls Association.
Who should belong to BBAC?
Membership in the Association consist of all blind and visually impaired bowlers and coach/directors and associate members received into the Association and conforming to the Constitution and By-Laws.
How do we join this great organization?
All the above mentioned qualifiers can do so by submitting an application in writing to the Secretary of the Association with name, address, telephone, e-mail, fax and current sight classification where applicable.
Who manages the association?
The Board of Management consists of the Immediate Past President, President, Vice-President, Technical Officer, Secretary, Treasurer and one (1) director from each active province and territory.
What are the duties of the board of management?
The president presides at all meetings of the Association, its Board of Management and Executive Committee. The President is the chief executive officer of The Association and supervises the other officers in the execution of their duties.
The Vice-President carries out the duties of the President during his absence and any other duties designated by the President and Executive Board.
The Provincial/Territorial Directors are responsible for promoting bowls and the Association in their province, and also training, funds and all communication between the provinces and The Association.
The Technical Officer is responsible to the membership for interpreting and distributing rules of the game and help to formulate rule changes, and ensure that these are used at all National Tournaments under their jurisdiction of The Association. The officer is responsible to ensure that the Board is kept informed of all upcoming National and International Tournaments.The Secretary conducts all correspondence of The Association, keeps records of the minutes of all meetings and maintain the register of members.
The Treasurer receives all monies payable to the Association, pays all bills and keeps the financial records.
