HEAVEN MUST HAVE NEEDED TWO SPECIAL ANGELS LAST YEAR
Do you have an Angel on your shoulder or does she walk beside you? Do they have a special place in Heaven for mother angels? Do you think father angels cook and clean and take care of them?
The Gilman Residence lost two very special people last year. My mother-in-law, Grandma, as she was so lovingly known by all those who knew her, passed away on the 3rd of January. We celebrated her 95th birthday with pizza and birthday cake and just after that she decided that she no longer wanted to eat. Ron and I sat by her bedside every afternoon for a month. The doctor thought she would probably live only three or four days but she managed to prove him wrong once again and fought a good fight for four weeks. We spent those last weeks singing her favorite songs to her and telling her how much we loved her. They were special moments that we will cherish for the rest of our lives.
On November 1st my mom, Nanny as everyone came to know her, slipped away quietly in the night from a massive heart attack. I never got the chance to say goodbye. She was my very best friend. We talked on the phone twice every day and went everywhere together as long as she was able. Loosing someone so special can leave you feeling like your heart might actually break in two but they say that time heals everything.
Mothers are very special people. Treasure every moment you have with them and treat them like Angels because you never know how long you will have them with you.
Thank you again to everyone in the Gilman Residence for taking such good care of my special angel's right to the very end.
